A hair conditioner smooths the cuticle after shampooing, moisturises the lengths and makes hair easy to comb. You apply it after every wash for 1 to 3 minutes. Choose by need: a hydrating formula for dry and porous hair, an acidic one for curls, a light lamellar one for fine hair that has lost body.
How to choose a hair conditioner
- Frizzy hair that looks thin: the light biomimetic lamellar conditioner LUNÉVA Silk Plump helps hydrate, reduce frizz and make the lengths look denser.
- Curly, wavy, dry and porous hair: the acidic conditioner Moisture Lock makes detangling easier and supports the natural curl pattern.
- Dry ends, coloured or curly hair: the 2-in-1 conditioner-mask Acidic Hydrating Treatment with jojoba oil, squalane, panthenol and ceramide NP, silicone-free.
- You want a fast result: the express conditioner-mask DAÉLI Hydra Silk for smoothness and softness in 1 to 3 minutes.
What is in this category
There are five items: LUNÉVA Silk Plump, LUNÉVA Moisture Lock, LUNÉVA Acidic Hydrating Treatment, and DAÉLI Hydra Silk in two sizes, 500 and 1000 ml. Conditioners do not change hair colour. To cancel yellow tones, see our separate toning masks category. For a deeper weekly treatment, reach for hair masks.
How to use a hair conditioner
- Shampoo and squeeze the water out of the lengths.
- Apply from mid-length to ends, avoiding the scalp.
- Detangle with a wide-tooth comb.
- Leave for 1 to 3 minutes (for the conditioner-mask, as long as the pack says) and rinse well.
Fine hair that gets oily quickly should not be overloaded: use less and skip the roots. Curls benefit from acidity and from applying on wet hair; see our guide to curly hair care with cream and gel, step by step. For lightened hair, read how to care for bleached hair at home.
Who a conditioner is not for
A conditioner does not treat the scalp and does not permanently rebuild the hair structure: it works on the surface and lasts until the next wash. If your hair is badly damaged after bleaching, add a regular mask. If your roots get oily fast while the ends are dry, apply only to the ends and mid-lengths, skipping the roots. For itching, dandruff or shedding, see a trichologist.
FAQ
Do I need a conditioner if I already use a hair mask?
Yes. A mask is used once or twice a week, while a conditioner goes on after every wash for easy combing. The exception is the 2-in-1 conditioner-mask, which does both jobs.
Which conditioner is best for curly hair?
An acidic hydrating conditioner such as Moisture Lock, which eases detangling and helps reduce frizz.
Can I put conditioner on my roots?
It is better not to. Apply from mid-length to the ends so the hair near the scalp is not weighed down.
Are these conditioners suitable for coloured hair?
Yes, the Acidic Hydrating Treatment conditioner-mask is made for coloured hair among others. Conditioners do not change or fix colour.
