Warm hair color shades are caramel, apricot-copper, peach and reddish tones that give colour a cosy depth. A toning mask with a warm pigment refreshes or boosts that colour without ammonia.
Which warm shades are in this category
All masks are 300 ml and use direct pigments without ammonia:
- Caramel: a warm caramel shade for lightness level 7-9;
- Apricot Copper: a warm apricot-copper for level 7-9 that refreshes a coppery direction;
- Crazy Orange: a rich, bright red-orange, warm in temperature, level 7-9;
- Beige Rose: a light beige-pink pearl, warm in temperature, for level 9-10;
- LUNÉVA Beige: a soft creamy-sand nuance for light blonde at level 9-10;
- Peach: a soft peach tone for light and lightened hair, with a conditioning complex (18-MEA, keratin, squalane, ceramides).
How to pick a warm shade
Go by your hair's lightness level. A medium-light base at level 7-9 takes Caramel, Apricot Copper and Crazy Orange well. Very light blonde at level 9-10 suits softer tones: Beige Rose, Beige or Peach. The lighter the base, the stronger the pigment shows, so on blonde start with a short timing.
To see how warmth works with your colour, read about choosing warm toning shades. The idea of which pigment cancels which tone is explained in the colour wheel in toning.
How to use
Apply the mask to clean, damp hair after shampooing, spread it through the lengths and leave it on for 5 to 30 minutes, depending on the richness you want. Rinse with warm water. Once or twice a week maintains the colour. The pigment rinses out cleanly, so this is temporary toning: it refreshes colour but does not replace permanent dye and does not lighten hair.
When colour has faded and you want richness back, that is called repigmentation. Read more in hair repigmentation: what it is and how to do it.
Who warm shades are not for
If you want the opposite, to remove orange or yellow, you do not need a warm pigment: see the Neutralize Orange and Red Tones category or the light and pastel shades. A toning mask also will not change dark hair dramatically or hide a strong contrast between regrowth and lengths.
FAQ
Can I tone red hair with a toning mask?
Yes, if the base is lightness level 7-9. Warm masks such as Apricot Copper or Crazy Orange refresh and boost red or copper tones. They are temporary and wash out gradually.
What is hair repigmentation?
It means restoring colour that has washed out or faded by adding pigment. A toning mask with direct pigments suits gentle upkeep of richness between colouring sessions.
Which warm shades suit blonde hair?
For light blonde at level 9-10, choose soft tones: Beige Rose, LUNÉVA Beige or Peach. Bright red-orange and copper sit better on level 7-9.
How long does a warm shade last?
It is temporary toning and fades with each wash. To maintain the colour, apply the mask once or twice a week.
