A toning shampoo contains direct pigments: it cleanses the hair and refreshes the shade between colour sessions at the same time. It does not lighten hair or colour it permanently. Choose Silver or Orchid Ice for cool blonde, BEIGE for a soft beige, and Powder Pink for a rosy tint.
How to choose a toning shampoo
- LUNÉVA Silver is a professional toning shampoo with mild surfactants for lightened and blonde hair at level 9–10+: it cleanses, hydrates and adds a delicate silver tone without drying.
- LUNÉVA Orchid Ice is a pearl shampoo with direct pigments, jojoba oil, hydrolyzed keratin and silk proteins; it suits coloured, toned, lightened and porous hair.
- LUNÉVA BEIGE helps maintain a beige shade: it cleanses and tones coloured and lightened hair, with a 1–5 minute leave-on time.
- LUNÉVA Powder Pink cleanses and tones with a powder-pink nuance, refreshing colour between salon visits.

How to use it
- Wash first with a regular shampoo to remove build-up.
- Apply the toning shampoo to damp hair and wear gloves.
- Leave for the time on the label (1–5 minutes for BEIGE) and rinse thoroughly.
- Use as needed: for example, BEIGE is recommended every third wash.

Common mistakes
The usual slips are leaving the shampoo on longer than directed, or applying it to dry or unevenly wetted hair, which makes the pigment go on patchy. Do not layer shade over an already saturated colour: if the tone looks darker than you wanted, wash it out a few times with a regular shampoo. Gloves are a must, as pigment can stain hands and nails. If in doubt, test on a small strand first.
Who a toning shampoo is not for
The result depends on your base colour, lightness level and porosity: on dark or unlightened hair the effect is minimal. For a stronger correction of yellow tones, choose a toning mask instead, and for a plain clean beforehand use the shampoos in Shampoos.
FAQ
Which toning shampoo is best for blonde hair?
For cool blonde, Silver (silver tone) and Orchid Ice (pearl) are the fits. For a warmer beige result, choose BEIGE.
Does a toning shampoo lighten hair?
No. A toning shampoo does not lighten hair: the pigment only layers onto your existing base, so the result depends on colour, lightness level and porosity.
How often should I use a toning shampoo?
As needed, when the shade starts to fade. BEIGE is recommended every third wash, with a 1–5 minute leave-on time.
How is a toning shampoo different from a toning mask?
A shampoo cleanses while gently maintaining the shade, whereas a mask works more strongly and suits a more noticeable colour correction.
